Overall Responsibility:
Assist T&E overall manager in leading the Asia Pacific Time and Expense team and controlling the on-going operations to ensure successful achievement of business and financial goals.
Experience/Knowledge Required:
- Commerce / Business / Accounting Bachelor’s Degree
- Seven to ten years experience in financial accounting and process
- PC Skills (Advanced Excel, Word and email)

- English oral, written and reading skills – Advanced
- Japanese language skills optional
- Asia Pacific statutory knowledge of expense classifications (Optional but an advantage)
Role Expectations:
30% of Time Providing Financial Leadership
- Direct supervision of one to two finance specialists and a total team of up to fifty including analysts and assistants to deliver the APSSC Time & Expense Scope of Processes outlined below.
- Analysis, development of recommendations and presentation of service metrics and process improvements to the APSSC executive leadership.
- Recruit and train new finance professionals to deliver and execute the Time and Expenses processes
- Guide all APSSC T&E staff in skill development and provide a point of contact for Individual Development Plan support. Work with HR, I/O and Finance leadership to source appropriate training, courses and work experience relevant to Accenture’s and the individual’s needs
- Provide support to APSSC T&E staff for critical issues particularly where key country contacts are involved. Support should include but not be limited to items including leadership and guidance on the appropriateness of responses and scope of investigations.
50% of Time Focused on On-Going Operations of the APSSC Time and Expense Team
- Develop transition plans for the movement of Time and Expense processes from in-country to the shared service environment
- Execute transition plans to ensure success against defined service levels
- Recruit and train finance professionals to deliver and execute the Time and Expenses processes
- Work with the Asia Pacific Finance Country Controllers to improve performance and address issues
- Ensure appropriate financial management and advice occurs through the provision Time and Expenses services to internal customers by identifying, applying and communicating financial best practices
- Direct supervision of T&E global processing team, APAC compliance audit teams and Time reporting team, ensure good advice occurs when necessary.
- Direct supervision of T&E customer relationship management team, assist T&E manager in T&E overall heath check and quality control, ensure customers’ escalations are promptly followed up by appropriate persons, review of recommendations on major audit issues.
- Monitoring of Seibel statistics on a monthly basis. Escalation of issues to non T&E functions for their attention. For T&E related issues, action plans drafted and implemented to address concerns.
20% of Time Focused on Cross Finance Function Operational Matters in APSSC
- Participate in cross function recruiting (including interviews)
- Participate in training identification, selection, development and implementation across the entire APSSC finance function relevant for APSSC finance personnel
- Other special projects and presentations as required
APSSC Time and Expenses Scope of Processes:
- Manage ARTES software for all Asia Pacific countries excluding Australia to facilitate the collection of Time and Expense reporting for all employees
- Upload information from ARTES to Accenture’s financial accounting system
- Management of documentation for expenses submitted by individuals
- Generate and follow up on missing time reports on a semi-monthly basis
- Manage the process of clearance of time and expense suspense generated by incorrect charge codes on ARTES reports
- Processing of time report adjustments for prior periods
- Pre pay audit of expenses identifying and investigating major anomalies
- Post pay audit of expenses focusing on compliance and business appropriateness. Compliance focusing on matching of receipts to amounts claimed on expense report; validity of receipts; correct use of exchange rates; etc. Business appropriateness focusing on those expenses that are not justified per Accenture policy.
- Perform prior period time adjustments for all GSCO supported countries. Support ASC, ESC and APSSS time and expense data uploading and posting error handling.
- Understanding of appropriate statutory provisions for each country in Asia Pacific in relation to time and expense reporting
- Collation of policy questions relating to internal Accenture to pass onto appropriate financial accounting policy experts as appropriate
- Adhoc presentations and analysis as required.
