General information for the Position Description Form
The first page of the position description contains five sections:
Identity The three subheadings in this section are: (1) the name of the company, the function and the position titles; (2) the name of the incumbent, the immediate supervisor and their joint signatures of approval; and (3) the beginning date when the position description is valid.
Purpose The reason for the position exists: within what limits and with what permanent objectives.
Size The pertinent financial and statistical information, such as sales, assets, annual turnover and total number of employees.
Network of interaction The operating system of the position reflecting its internal context (hierarchical and functional) and external context (from supplier to client).
Minimum Requirements Educational background, training, experience, specific knowledge and business understanding necessary to satisfactorily carry out the position’s responsibilities.
The second page contains one section with the following three subsections:
Areas of Responsibility The titles of the areas of responsibility by order of importance and the definition of the roles and their expected final results.
Level For each area of responsibility, the degree of impact in its functional and organizational context.
Measurement Criteria For each area of responsibility, the quantitative and qualitative measurement criteria to be used as the basis for setting objectives.
