Position Title: Tax manager Business Reason: Set up the tax team of China Region and country in view of the following: 1) The complex business in China requires a strong tax team to support. China region has 19 NSN entities, (including China Hold Co. to be set up by the end of 2007), which engage in full supply chain of manufacturing, sales, service and R&D. The global product pool is in China whose export takes up to 50%-70% of global sales; 2) Chinese tax regulations are complex without unified implementation in different provinces. New Income Tax Law will be implemented in 2008 and indirect tax reform is on the way. Tax planning and control are especially crucial in the near future. Tax applications and disputes are cumbersome and require many efforts to achieve; and 3) External consultants (big 4) charge equal or even higher fees in China compared with Europe and US. To build up internal expertise is cost efficient from long term perspective. Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities: - Develop tax strategies in support of the Company's strategic and operational objectives - Advise the operational business on tax efficient project structures - Keep Senior Management advised of tax planning opportunities and pitfalls - Ensure the tax function is in full compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes Oxley Act - Provide tax update on PRC tax development - Manage external tax professionals - Manage transfer pricing in the region - Research significant tax issues as needed Requirements: - Strong legal, accounting or tax background - At least 3-5 years work experience in consulting firm and / or tax department of MNCs - Good Knowledge of the tax practice in at least one area of Greater China - Ability to work in a virtual team and to act independently - CPA or CTA is preferred - Excellent communication skills in English - Expertise competence - Initiative, analytics and result and quality orientation - Strategic judgment and risk management - Professional ethics and team work
